Social Programme

Pre-meeting reception at Lisbon City Hall
A welcome reception will take place at Lisbon City Hall, on Wednesday, the 27th November, 19:00.
Transfer to the welcome reception venue will be provided from Palácio Ceia to the City Town Hall.
Participants interested in this transfer please be at the main entrance of Palácio Ceia at 18:30.

Câmara Municipal de Lisboa

The City Hall building, aside from its architectural and artistic value, reflects the image of Lisboa and of Liberal, Regenerating and Republican Portugal. Several important events in our history, such as the Proclamation of the Republic on October 5th 1910, are deeply associated to this building.

 

Tour of the Fado Museum
On Thursday, the 28th November, all participants are invited to a tour of the Museu do Fado/Fado Museum.
Buses will leave the conference venue at 18:00.

Museu do Fado

Since its opening to the public in 1998, the Museum has incorporated items belonging to hundreds of interpreters, authors, composers, musicians, instrument manufacturers, scholars and researchers, professional and amateur artists: hundreds of personalities that witnessed and wrote the history of Fado, and that did not hesitate to cede the testimonial of their affective and memorial patrimony to us, for the construction of a collective project.

 

SCOP dinner
SCOP dinner will take place at the Archive Room of Lisbon City Hall, on Friday, the 29th November.
Transfer to the dinner venue will be provided. Information on the meeting point and hour will be posted later.

Optional Tour to Sintra and Cascais
On the 30th November, participants have a free afternoon. The Organizing Committee of Lisbon SCOP 2013 proposes you to take a Tour to Sintra and Cascais, two wonderful towns near Lisbon.

Participants interested in taking this optional tour should contact directly Mrs. Angélica Ruivo (angelica.ruivo@abreu.pt | +351 214 156 125) from the Travel Agency Abreu to make their reservation. The tour costs 55E (euros).

 

Museums free entrance on November, 30 and December, 1
The Lisbon City Hall offers free entrances at the following museums upon presentation of the SCOP official badge (just on the 30th November and 1st December):

Discounts at the Conference Venue Shop
The shop at Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações, where the conference will take place, offers discounts upon presentation of the SCOP official badge.
