Practical information

Transport Lisbon Airport is located in Portela which is about 7 Km away from the city center.

For travel from the airport to the city there are several options:

TAXIS

    Taxis are just outside the Arrivals area. A taxi ride takes approximately 15 minutes to the city centre. Extra charge is to be expected for luggage and during the night.

AEROBUS

    The local bus company CARRIS runs a bus transport service connecting Lisbon's airport to the city centre passing by the main transport hubs such as "Marquês de Pombal", "Praça do Comércio" and "Cais do Sodré".
    This service is called AeroBus and it passes by dozens of Lisbon hotels, thus providing tourists arriving at the airport with easy access to their accommodation.

    Timetable, frequency & price:
    Departures from the Airport: 07:00 to 23:00
    Departures from "Cais do Sodré": 07:45 to 22:30
    Every 20 minutes (every 30 min. after 21:00)
    Ticket: 3.50€

UNDERGROUND

    The underground (METRO) operates from 6.30am to 1:00am.
    Single ticket: 1.40€
    1 day ticket CARRIS/METRO (valid for 24 hours, after validation, in the Metro and Carris whole networks): 6.00€ - more information.

REGULAR BUSES

    The local bus company CARRIS has several buses linking Lisbon Airport to different points in the city.
    Tickets purchased on the bus: 1.80€


Important
Please notice that Taxis and the AeroBus allow luggage with large measurements. The underground and the regular buses have luggage restrictions (cabin dimensions: 50x40x20cm).
